Hi, I backed into a pickup in a parking lot last night very slowly. I hit the corner of the front bumper, and it looked as if it was bent inwards ( not a dent, but the angle the bumper wraps around the front and side of the car was decreased). We decided to settle it outside of insurance, his car is in the body shop right now.
I really dont know much about cars and was wondering what kind of price I can expect.

Hopefully this person and the shop are honest because you can just look at some cars and do $200.00 dollars of damage.
But anyway this job can run between $500.00 to $1000.00 dollars and after you get the estimate ask for a copy and you still can talk this over with your insurance company to get advice and if you still want to pay for it out of pocket your rate will not increase………

I am looking to get a new vehicle and am completely new to financing. I understand that my interest rate will be mainly dependent on my credit score but I am still a little confused. For example, if i go to the honda site and then "BuildYourHonda" and see that my car is around $24,000 and 3.99% APR, what does that mean? Same as when I go to a local car dealers website and they ask on the site (in order to get an estimate on monthly payments) what my down payment will be, what my terms are and what is my interest rate. What is an average interest rate? and how is that included in the price? If I have a 5% interest rate does that mean i pay the 24,000 for the car + 5% interest so therefore I pay $25,200? I assume no since most people say if you spend 20,000 or whatever on a vehicle it will cost you 30,000 by the time it is paid off. Please supply me with any information to help me wrap my head around this better and so I won’t sound completely dumb-founded when I go into the dealership. Thanks

Interest is compounded each month based on the principle amount that you owe.
You will pay much more than $1200 in interest with a 5% interest rate on a $24K loan over 5 years. It will be closer to $4,000.
Google "Auto Loan Amortization schedule" and you can enter all of the information to see how much interest you will be paying over the course of a loan.
A good interest rate on an auto with excellent credit is between 2%-4%.
