I just bought a 2002 cavalier coupe with low miles. The car runs great its a 5 speed manual with a sunroof, etc, blah blah…. The only problem is that a few years ago a lot of dark colored GM cars did not do so well with their clear coat. So the clear coat has been baked off a bit on the roof. Dark colors attract heat which overtime baked off some of the clear coat.

So to paint just the roof would be about $400-$1000 which is very expensive, and i know in the future i will have to paint the hood, and the trunk, and those parts will be even more expensive.

So should i get a wrap for the car? It is a black car, and i would get a camo wrap i think. It would cover the cavaliers roof,hood,trunk/spoiler, and a small amount on the doors where it has faded. The rest would be left black, and original unless they also start to fade.

http://www.powersportswraps.com/motorsport-vinyl/body-wraps/101/urban-grey-black

This is what i was thinking. Would it be a good idea? would it look good?

To do the entire top of my car(hood/roof/trunk/spoiler) would be about the same price as just painting the roof of my car.

found a link posted it below to a site that has a suv wrapped in camo. i think it would look good but not just pieces of the car i would do the entire car. they also have a solid black wrap…. hummm i think you should do some research before you decide.

My brother was a cop. He lost his job due to an auto immune disease and is now strapped for cash. He has more guns than he know what to do with and wants to sell off the guns he inherited from our Dad.

My Dad worked in Watts, Los Angeles during the Watts riots. (My Dad was old enough to be my grandfather) he got all paranoid after the riots and bought a bunch of guns. Supposedly, Dad kept a .38 under his car seat wrapped in a towel, and kept this rifle in his trunk.

This is the stangest rifle I have ever seen. It says it was made by a company called "Universal." There are four clips for it. The bore looks fine, but one side has a lot of visible rust on it. I am used to a tubular magazine on a pump action.

This gun is really ugly. When you put the slide forward, all you have is this ugly tube under the barrel in front of the clip.

What would a reasonable price for this thing be?

Vulcan’s were 30cal M1 carbines converted to 357 or 44 mag pump actions.
the originals were converted from rebarreled surplus M1 carbines but they became popular enough that the later ones were manufactured from new receivers & looked a little less clunky than the mil surp jobs..
haven’t seen one in 20 years or so & have no idea what they would sell for now.

I am buying a 62 bug from a dude that lives about an hour away. I saw it yesterday and he met me halfway (kind gesture just to show someone the car).

Over all the car was cherry, decent body, great paint, ran/sound good, interior finished. It had some quirks and somethings plain out did not work on the bug. (blinkers, couldnt pop the trunk, etc) small things overall.

He was originally wanted 5k, I told him now way past 4. He said he would work with me and 4k was ok.
I told him I want to move forward and I would call him today to see if we can wrap it up. I also went to a local shop that usually answers my questions. They showed me 3 bugs in their shop that people just purchased and now need all 3 of them needed over 1000 to get it ready for the road.

They strongly warned me to get it inspected before I buy…. only problem is he lives so far away and would be a huge nuisance for him. Especially on how this inspection would probably force him to lower his price even more.

suggestions?

You are unreasonable. You are buying a 40 year old car for just 4 grand and this dude has already driven 40 miles to sell it. Get a shop close to the car to look at it, bring a mechanic to it or take a chance on it. Even if you do spend a grand to fix it, you still got a good deal if it is good shape. If you really want this bug jump on it, because he will sell it to someone else or get tired of listening to your demands.

I am looking to buy a new car and have narrowed it down to specific cars. I just want your opinions on what you think! Both are around the same price OTD and have a clean title. I am a college student, only working part time, so I won’t be able to afford anything more extravagant than what I have listed below.

1. Mazda Mazda 3 Sedan
Color: Blue
Year: 2005
Miles: about 60k
Interior: Black Leather (no seat heaters)
This is the touring edition with the 2.3 engine, larger rims, pretty new tires, 6 disc in dash CD player, fog lights, leather wrapped steering wheel.
I love the inside of this car, I also like the larger engine (I drive quite a few huge hills every day on my commute) I am not a huge fan of driving a bright blue car but the color is growing on me, and it seems like EVERY girl drives a Mazda 3, I don’t want to be just another girl in a Mazda. I am also worried about the age of the car.

2. Nissan Versa S Hatchback
Color: White
Year: 2009
Miles: about 20k
Interior: Beige Microfiber
This is pretty much the base model with the exception of the 1.8 engine and CD player. Tires with hubcaps, no center console/armrest. I LOVE the way this car looks on the outside, it’s different and unusual and really cute! I also like that it is a newer car and has a factory warranty on it. The one thing I would change is that it’s lacking storage space. I also would buy new rims and tint the windows.

What are your thoughts? Mostly the year is making me hesitant on the Mazda, and the lack of storage is making me hesitant on the Versa.

the mazda is a better choice.it is more durable, and you are getting more for your money vs. the nissan.the year is a little old but still decent

Okay so i am looking for a nice first car and I know everyone says your first car should always be a piece of crap, but i act like I am spoiled and i find a way to look spoiled. strange, huh? haha.

Well anyways, I was very interested in a Mercedes Benz ML 320. I found a couple of them near me for sale all around $5000, I like the whole concept of luxury, technology, and midsize SUV all wrapped in to one. So I could probably get one if I wanted but I wanted to check here first just in case there is another vehicle someone else recommends fro me to get. below are my preferences, most important to least important. It doesnt have to have all of these though:

Price range up to $5000
SUV
1999 or newer
Navigation
luxury (or at least feel / look luxurious)
leather
midsize (not too big!)
towing
dvd

thanks to everyone who are answering my question and you will probably be a big influence on my decision

best bet would be to look for a ford excape, or saturn vue. The problem is with $5000 to work with it will be hard to fill in what your expecting. I think it might be hard to find one with navigation and leather at that price unless it has 100,000+miles on it. I myself would forgo the navigation and leather to look for one with less mileage. Besides you can get a new portable GPS for $100 that will have more updated maps than one that is 10 years old. I would also try to find the old sqaure jeep cherokee. the 4.0L enginge is damn near bullet proof. As for the girl saying you should get an infiniti she has no idea what stuff cost. You will not find anything in your price range hell they start off at $40,000+ new. I would also look at subaru’s all wheel drive and that gives you better options besides just looking at SUV’s.

I have had other brands in the past that cost the same price or more and I didn’t smell any herbs even though they claimed to have a bunch in there, plus the stitching was not good, after a short while, the flaxseeds started falling out. I love the beautiful design and it is obvious from the beautiful stitching and attention to detail that these are made with love, the quality is fantastic!” “I have suffered with back pain for a long time.

5:45 A.M. Some people might be fast asleep, in the middle of an exciting dream. Some people might be heading out to work, fighting off the yawns while concentrating on the road. Jenny was awake; her hair separated into sections. The first layer was straight, and the second layer was on its way to being the same. The straightener was steaming, the smell of burning hair was very distinct in Jenny’s little bathroom. But beauty comes at a price!
7:15 A.M. Some of those late sleepers might just be rubbing their eyes awake. Some people might be running to catch the early bus. Jenny was sitting at the kitchen table, a steaming English muffin on the plate in front of her. Steaming much like the way her burning hair had been hours earlier. She easily spread butter around half the muffin, and began crunching away at it. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, after all.
9:30 A.M. Some of those late sleepers might still be sleeping. Some people might even be eating an especially late breakfast. At least late to some of us. Jenny, however, is sitting in government class. She has a spot right in front of the teacher; her phone is safely tucked away in her purse. She is listening to her teacher groan on Economics; Prisoner’s Dilemma and Game Theory. Jenny thinks she should be listening, but all she can do is think about the upcoming Spanish test, in 5th hour. A button goes off in Jenny’s brain, and she snaps to attention. Better to pay attention and get an A than, well, you know the alternative.
12:55 P.M. Some people might be sitting in 6th period, listening to their physics teachers talk about slopes, or velocities. Some people might be getting off an afternoon flight in Los Angeles, but then again that’s just an idea. Jenny is just throwing away the uneaten, whole wheat noodles off her Styrofoam lunch tray. They are covered in what is supposed to be cheese sauce, but looks more like yellow colored water. No wonder the whole tray lies uneaten in the bottom of the trash can.
3:05 P.M. Some people might be walking into the orthodontist’s office, ready to have their teeth straightened and moved around. Some of those elementary school kids might be starting with their last class of the day, math or science maybe. Jenny is driving. Everyday her mom picks her up at precisely
2:55 P.M. Everyday, Jenny gets behind the wheel of her mom’s dull blue van, and drives home. Today, the last of the winter snow storms are working on melting. Jenny slides over a slick spot, the car swerving, similar to a bobble head. Her mom grabs the wheel. Jenny is done driving home.
6:00 P.M. Some people might be sitting down with their families, enjoying a nice warm meal of spaghetti. Even more of those elementary school kids might just be leaving Adventure Club. Jenny is running. And dribbling. Basketball practice, she thinks, is a love/hate relationship. She loves the good feeling inside when you make a left-handed layup; left handed. Nobody, not even Jenny, enjoys running seven suicides. Without a break in between. The bright side? What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
8:45 P.M. Some people might be tuning in to the end of American Idol’s newest top 24. Some people might be star-gazing, as the star’s in the sky slowly begin to reveal themselves. Jenny wraps a towel along her dripping wet hair, pulls on some pajamas, and unwraps her hair. This takes around five minutes. The next five minutes are spent brushing out the knots in Jenny’s newly washed hair. It might’ve been said before, but beauty comes at a price.
12:00 A.M. Some people might be just hitting up the clubs, ready for a night on the town. Some people might be waking up to the sounds of sirens on the highway. Jenny is fast asleep in her bed. One piece of hair is in front of her nose; with every breath she takes it rises into the air. As if it was floating…
